Forklift Tire Specs
Ever since 1917, essential tools used within industry and commercial businesses are forklifts. Throughout its history the forklift has changed through different forms, from a tractor with a platform attachment to a particular high-tech equipment. Forklift tires have also evolved into specialized tires, with different types designed to suit particular applications.
Cushion (Solid) Tires
A cushion tire is constructed of solid polyurethane or rubber and is best for indoor work on smooth surfaces. The cushion tire tread is bonded or pressed onto the steel ring of the tire. Cushion tires are rated ease of steering and for various load capacities. Cushion tires are usually utilized within warehouse atmosphere.
Pneumatic Tires
Pneumatic forklift tires are filled with foam or air. They come in two kinds: bias or radial. Depending on the use, they come with various sidewall protection, tread depths and weight. Pneumatic forklift tires which are filled with foam maintain constant pressures and are less susceptible to punctures. Pneumatic tires are normally utilized outdoors on surfaces that are rough and uneven.
Pneumatic Shaped Solid/Solid Pneumatic
Solid Pneumatic Hybrid tires combine the comfortable ride of a pneumatic tire with the puncture resistance of a solid tire. They are an option to the outdoor pneumatic tire.
Large Rubber and Flotation Tires
Big rubber tires, that can be solid, pneumatic or foam, are used on wheel loader forklifts. These tires are best for moving and loading heavy items onto trucks or into processing equipment. Big flotation pneumatic tires are suited for masted rough terrain forklifts commonly used at automobile recyclers, lumberyards and construction sites.
