Reach Truck
A reach truck is utilized to pile up supplies, pallets of goods, and to keep storage places tidy. The reach truck is available in quite a few models: the double-deep reach, straddle reach and the stand-up reach.
The stand-up is the most basic. The truck forks slide beneath the pallet and move it to the right storage place. The forks slide the pallet into position. This kind of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet in depth.
The double-deep reach truck is similar to the stand-up, but is ideal for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods. This particular version consists of telescopic forks designed to put the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This eliminates the need to push the pallet back when one more pallet must go into the same shelving section.
The additional advantage of straddle reaches is that they could both slide under the pallet and grasp the sides too. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units can be accessed in many directions. This version is ideal in situations where goods would not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
Usually more than one type of reach truck is needed inside warehouses. Manufacturing facilities and textile firms use different types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not hard to use and can increase productivity while maximizing available storage space.
