Forklift Truck Training
Prior to becoming qualified as an operator, training on a forklift or an industrial-powered lift truck is vital. This particular training is often modified to the machine, any machine attachment to be utilized by the operator and individual facility. It is important to have safety as a priority for the trainer or the trainee.

General Qualifications
You should be 18 years old if you want to operate a forklift. Furthermore, you must have the physical capability to operate and control the type of machine you are training for in a safe manner. Before assuming any operator duties, all operators have to be trained properly.

Pedestrian Safety
When a pedestrian stuck by the equipment, this can cause one of the most common types of injuries related to utilizing forklifts. Operators of forklifts must always yield to pedestrians and use their horns when nearing any crosswalk, pedestrian area or intersection.

Weather Conditions
Some of the most hazardous places to operate a forklift are loading docks. When rain filters in through dock doors which are open, the floor can become extremely hazardous and slippery. It is important for operators of forklifts to take these situations into account when working within these kinds of environments.

Certification
Both classroom instructions and hands-on exercises must be completed in order to become a certified forklift operator. This kind of training could be adjusted in order to meet the requirements of every type of workplace; for instance, incorporating the different attachments that would be utilized on that particular jobsite and every specific kind of machinery.

Accidents
Unfortunately around 100 people are killed every year in forklift accidents. In addition, there are around 100,000 who are injured. With correct forklift training and safe use of the equipment, most of these injuries could be avoided all together.
