Kinds of Hydraulic Cranes
Amongst the most common cranes in the construction industry is hydraulic cranes. They are used to construct everything from skyscrapers and buildings to roadways and freeway overpasses.
Cranes come in a huge range of models, styles and sizes. These different models enable both the operators and owners to carry out many more functions within their industry. Choosing the right type of crane is really crucial for making sure that the material could be transported efficiently and safely to the place it has to get to in order for the construction process to start.
Truck Cranes
Usually, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are extremely helpful for building sites where a crane is needed in many different places for the duration of the build. This is because of the fact that the crane is capable of being driven easily from one location to another.
Furthermore, the cranes are able to be transported to different construction locations on the road as they could drive themselves and this eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own greatly lessens transport costs at the end of the day.
The truck crane on the other hand is not stable enough to handle all the major loads that a hydraulic crane could handle. Thus, to be able to fix this issue, outriggers could be extended from the deck. The outriggers use hydraulic pressure in order to slightly lift the truck off of the ground, making it stable and balanced.
Crawler-Mounted Cranes
Crawler cranes feature huge tracks on the base of the crane. These massive tracks are similar to the ones seen on other construction machinery such as bulldozers and backhoes. The tracks enable the crane to move around a construction site successfully.
