Change an LPG Cylinder
There are different kinds of sources which can power forklifts. They could run from gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for many applications. There are some facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that can be changed out when the equipment should be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must really be careful so as to avoid possible serious injuries. Like for example: be sure to put on the appropriate safety equipment like safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Turn off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Bear in mind that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never use a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened just by utilizing the hand.
