Genie Knuckle boom lifts are strong four wheel drive and four wheel steering capable machinery which allow work to be done effectively, even when the terrain is rough. The ALC 1000 electronic controls are a menu-based system which enables the user to easily calibrate the equipment and its components. System diagnostics are available in many languages. There are dual fuel options available on the Z-80/60 model. The optional Deutz diesel powered engine is quiet, but turbocharged. It allows for improved performance at higher altitudes. It also carries more than enough torque for better grade-ability and terrain.
Improved traction for tough terrain is due to four-wheel drive and full-time positive traction. The Z-135/70 comes standard with four-wheel steering. Optional features on this particular model include coordinated, crab, front wheel, and rear wheel steering to give the machinery more agility. on the Z-80/60 helps improve wheel contact on irregular ground. All of these features make Genie Knuckle Boom lifts easier and smoother to operate on uneven terrain.
Though these models are larger than other Genie engine-powered articulating Z-booms, they have features like continuous 360 degree turntable rotation and telescoping jibs to provide the user with remarkable reach and range of motion. The design of the Z-boom gives the units outstanding over and up positioning capability that varies from 8.83 meters on the Z-80/60 unit to 23.01 meters on the Z-135/70 model. The XChassis expanding axle is an innovatively designed device utilized for extending and retracting axles in and out of stowed position. If the axle is stowed the width of the Z-135/70 model machine is only 2.46 meters. For easier transport, the Z-80/60 has fixed width axles.
