Over the last decades, the machine has really grown and the designs have changed so there are a variety of trucks and a lot of modern designs to suit each particular application. Loads are capable of lifting and reaching to greater heights than ever before.

Forklift models are offered in a wide variety of different power types including: diesel, gasoline, electric, diesel and liquid propane or LP models. The load capacities of these models vary greatly as there are many manufacturers that build and design them. Like for instance, some units can reach a height of over 10,000 kg or more than 3000.

The forklift truck features consist of an overhead guard, mast and axles, the counterweight, and the frame of the truck to which the base of the power source and all aforementioned things are connected. On the rear side there is a counterweight connected to the truck. This counterweight counterbalances the load that is being carried so as to keep the machine stable.

The machines movements are dictated by the operator who sits in the cab. The overhead feature likely consists of a metal roof made to protect the operator from falling objects. Hydraulic tilt cylinders mounted to the mast and the frame. These tilts pivot the mast so as to engage the load. The mast is a vertical assembly which lowers and lifts the cargo with the interlocking rails to provide lateral stability.

There are many businesses and warehouses in the manufacturing fields that utilize forklifts for lifting and transportation on a daily basis. Nowadays, there are many different used and new lift trucks offered in the market at competitive prices. Those who rely on occasional lifting and transportation could use rental forklifts because they are available too.
